Gela Bella is an accomplished musician, songwriter, computer music programmer, professional recording/mixing engineer, software programmer, and DJ. She has performed in clubs, multimedia expositions, film/performance art installations, and parties. She has been composing electronic music since the 1980's. This is an exciting time as she begins to create a new era of music !

She was born in Biloxi, Mississippi where she began playing the piano at the age of six. She picked up the guitar when she was fourteen and started playing Jazz, Rock, and the Blues. Throughout high school she played trumpet and sang in the choir. She went to college in Mississippi for music in fine arts. She studied music theory, composition, piano, voice, and her major emphasis was classical guitar.

During this time, she bought her first synthesizer/workstation and began composing electronic music. She went on to finish college at Middle Tennessee State University (just outside Nashville) studying computer music, sound engineering, and electronics. Completeing her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and Recording Industry Management.

This is when she began writing pop songs and recording them in the studio. Her electronic compositions took a back seat when she began playing in the alternative band "The Shindigs" from Nashville. She sang, played bass and guitar in the group. They held a #1 spot on Nashville's alternative radio station.

The early 90's were spent in the Chicago house music scene. By day, she was a professional sound engineer and was working with some of the biggest names in the music business. She also engineered/produced independent projects that were mostly industrial music and acoustic rock. By night, Gela Bella was writing electronica, techno, industrial, and house music. It was here that she made some of the best electronica music ever made by a female composer.

During the mid 90's, she relocated to San Francisco where she worked in recording studios and designed club sound systems. She made improvisational "techno/house" music where she combined her live performance skills. Gela plays synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines along with her own tracks and/or while spinning records. Grooving on all the decks and machines at the same time is an exhilarating musical experience.

Expect to hear plenty of Electronica and her upcoming releases of nearly two decades of music.
